About the Event

In 2024 we are marking the four quarters of the Wheel of the Year with small Festival-style celebrations, on the weekend nearest to the actual date of each festival.

Ostara or the Spring Equinox occurs on 21st March, with day and night of almost equal length and the conception of the year ahead.

June 21st brings us the Summer Solstice with the longest daylight hours of the year and the height of summer.

September 21st brings us Mabon or the Autumn Equinox, when once again day and night are  equal in length. Half way between Summer and Winter Solstices.

December 21st brings us the shortest dalylight hours at Yule or Winter Solstice, the birth of the new year and gradual return of the light from this point onward.

Join us for a celebration of gratitude for each of these seasonal milestones as we acknowledge and show our gratitude for life on Earth and the precious gifts each season brings us.

Set outdoors in the meadows, woodland and orchards and indoors in the barn classroom, we gather to explore activities relevant to each of the festivals.

We'll learn about what each celebration means and how we are connected to the natural world at these special times of year.

We will hear tales of our ancestors and the folklore that surrounds the seasonal celebration.

We'll share live music, stories, poetry, song, conversation, good food and refreshing drinks.

Family activities are likely to include bushcraft, art, treasure hunt, music making, and there will be time for crafts, guided meditations, chanting, sound bathing, forest bathing, tree hugging, drumming in circle, campfire cooking, guided meditations, breathing exercises, chanting, and setting of intentions for the months ahead.

As we share these seasonal celebrations together, we will forge new friendships, and discover new horizons.
