About the Event

"Embracing the Winter Solstice or Yule Festival embodies a timeless connection to the Wheel of the Year, marking one of its eight seasonal festivals.

For generations, these celebrations have tethered us to nature's rhythms. Our ancestors lived harmoniously with the seasons, understanding their profound impact on our lives.

In our modern world, this connection has waned. We've drifted away from the intrinsic bond we share with nature. It's vital to reclaim this connection, fostering inner peace and holistic well-being.

At Dalton Moor Farm, we invite you to celebrate the Winter Solstice through a serene Fire and Drum circle, a gathering aimed at harmonizing with nature's cadence.

Meeting at the School of Sustainable Living & Wellbeing at 6 pm, we'll embark on a candlelit journey to the fire circle. Dress warmly and bring waterproof gear, as we'll immerse ourselves in nature's embrace.

Join us as we commence with a heartfelt greeting and a poetic invocation, delving into the significance of the Winter Solstice. A brief meditation will follow, leading us into shared stretching exercises.

A spirited drum circle will ensue, resonating with the rhythms of our surroundings, fostering a sense of connectedness.

Following the drumming, a pause for refreshments and conversations will provide an opportunity to share in the communal spirit.

Returning to the circle, each participant will have the chance to speak freely using a 'speaking stick,' sharing thoughts, feelings, stories, or experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental space.

Confidentiality within the circle is paramount. For those inclined, the option to release written messages into the fire offers a symbolic way to let go of the old and embrace the new.

This event allows for personal reflection, fostering a deeper connection to nature, to others, and to oneself.".

Remember to bring your wellies (essential) and waterproofs and warm clothes, so you can stay warm and dry outdoors, whatever the weather.

There is free parking in the farm yard.

Compost loo, natural urinals, and hand washing are available beside the big barn.

We have a small shop selling our own products.

Access to the farm is from Truro Avneue, Murton. Our lane entrance is between houses number 42 and 43 Truro Avenue. The post code to use for this entrance is SR7 9LG

What3Words is \\\warns.keen.blatantly.

Follow the lane down the hill to the large blond barn with a tan roof that you can see from the top of the hill. It's a single track road so look ahead for any oncoming vehicles before proceding in either direction.

NOTE; It is advisable NOT to use our own postcode (SR7 9JY) as most navigation systems direct to the wrong side of the farm where there is no vehicle access.

Dalton Moor Farm is a Social Enterpirise Business. This means that every penny you spend with us is invested in supporting the natural environment and our wildlife. It also supports us in delivering outdoor education to schools and people of all ages.

We would be very grateful if you would tell all your friends and contacts about us and encourage them to come to some of our events. Thank you for your support.
